ASH VS EVIL DEAD | S2 E4

Ashley J Williams is back! and wasting no time getting into all kinds of deadite trouble in perhaps what was is the most gore filled episode yet! But as season two gets really going what does Ruby have in store? ……Join Film and TV Nerd to find out!

Ash vs Evil Dead DUI – In the final moments of last week’s episode, Ash and his father reconcile their long-time hatred of each other when Ash saves his life. A heartbeat later, Ash’s possessed Delta 88 crushes his father beneath its wheels.

This week’s episode opens on that very moment, with Ash cradling his dead father in his arms.

Pablo comes to comfort him, but Ash tells him that everyone he loves is taken from him. Next time, it could be Kelly or Pablo.

Just then, Ash’s Delta 88 returns and Pablo runs to confront it. The door flings open and pulls Pablo in with its seatbelts and rides away.

Ash v Evil Dead DUI

Ash meets up with Chet to borrow his car and chase after the Delta. Chet agrees under the condition that they go to a strip club. Ash doesn’t have time to deal with Chet’s extreme intoxication, so he agrees and takes the keys.

Kelly and Ruby arrive at Ash’s trailer to stock up on guns. Ruby tells her that the deadites are trying to raise the demon, Baal, who sows paranoia in people and makes them destroy each other.

Back in the Delta, Pablo meets Lacy, the only survivor of the Delta’s massacre. He tries to calm her down as the evil car barrels down the road, but the Necronomicon comes to life and tells Pablo that their destinies are intertwined. He looks up just in time to see a car approaching them head-on and they crash.

Pablo wakes up with a metal pole impaled through his chest and Lacy dead on the Delta’s hood. Ash arrives and helps Pablo remove the pole, then helps him over to the Delta where he says Pablo should rest… in the trunk. Pablo is confused but decides to get in, and as Ash is about to close the trunk, Pablo wakes up next to Lacy. It was another vision.

Ash v Evil Dead DUI

Chet demands answers to what’s going on so Ash gives him the rundown. Evil book, demons, chosen one, you know the drill. Chet is all on board to join him, but Ash wants to keep him safe, so tells him to stay behind. They realize that the Delta is luring them back to the demolition derby where Ash’s dad got it in the first place, so that’s where they have to go to find it.

When he arrives at the derby, the Delta makes its appearance and tries to chase Ash down. While Kelly and Ruby square off against her “children,” Ash takes slashes at his beloved Delta. The car stops to let Lacy and Pablo out, but when the book attacks him, Pablo begins stabbing it. The book tells him to stop and use “the word” to send it back to Hell. The book spits out a page and Pablo reads the word, causing the car to halt in its tracks.

The Delta’s trunk pops open, revealing a portal to Hell, and Ash and Pablo agree to toss the book in.

Ash and Pablo walk away from the car, but the camera zooms back in on the trunk, and something fiery and demon-like flies back out of it.

Was anyone actually expecting their ill-advised plan to work? Of course not, but that’s the fun of this show.

This week offered up lots of action and lots of laughs. We got to see the conclusion of the Delta’s turn as a villain, and of course, the demon Baal has arrived. We’ll see what he has in store for our heroes next week!
